Hello neighbors & friends, We Are So Appreciative Of The Porchfest Performers, Hosts, Volunteers & Attendees. The wet conditions made it a challenging day, but at the same time seemed to deepen connections in our community. What a day... So much great music, fun festive crowds and so many conversations and people coming together— all day long. Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of it. We’re Excited To Announce An Outdoor Film Night In Deering Center with a series of short films from the Maine Outdoor Film Festival on Friday October 2nd at 7pm at the Deering Center Pocket Park (in between Roy’s & Le’Cha). The Sports Bra will be also be on hand with popcorn, water bottle refills, and merch for sale! The event is Family Friendly & Free. Donations of $10 - $15 are welcome. The park opens at 6:30pm, films start at 7pm. Click here for all details. Online Auction for Deering Center Art. You can bid on a mural by Portland's iconic muralist Ryan Adams while supporting Furniture Friends and the creation of Maine's first women's sports bar. The beloved “NEIGHBORHOOD” mural from Noble has been removed from the wall (well all but the last two letters!), and is up for bid. If you have a space for a really special 16’ work of art, you can find all the details here, and there’s no minimum bid! Mark Your Calendars, a Forum for District 4 & 5 City Council Candidates will be on Wednesday October 14th at The Light Church at 4 Brentwood Street. District 4 is from 5 - 6pm, District 5 is from 6:30 - 8pm. All are welcome. If you’d like to submit a question to be considered for the candidates, click here. The Deering Center Garden Ramble has opened sign-ups for the 2027 Ramble!
