  9. K-58s - 54 Richardson St

    The K-58s, a father-son duo from Nason's Corner, take inspiration from the sounds of classic surf rock from the '60s. Their 14 year-old guitarist, Mason Shaddox, has a deep appreciation for classic artists like Dick Dale, The Chantays and The Beach Boys. He's spent hours exploring the reverb-drenched riffs that define the genre. His dad, Bobby, a teacher at Rowe Elementary, keeps things grooving on the drums. Their rocking performance will bridge generations in what will be their first public performance.

They are regulars in public spaces around Portland and the local pep-band at progressive rallies of all kinds. Get ready for New Orleans Second Line, street band funk, cumbia grooves and a few pop tunes thrown in for good measure!

They play a mindfully-curated selection of classic hip country tunes from the likes of Kristofferson, Hank, Townes, and John Prine, plus a selection of like-minded originals.

    Click here for website. Becca Biggs has been establishing herself as a Midcoast musician over the last nine years. Her twangy sound, born of Tennessee roots, colors but never overpowers her band. With Biggs, their blend of alt-country and rock propel original tunes that are both muscular, catchy, and enveloping.

  5. Giant Pine - 100 Alba St

    Giant Pine plays a very interesting, mix of Americana, blues, rock, folk, and, on occasion, a bit jazzy or funky. Most of our set list is less mainstream, but a few tunes are familiar to most folks. Well play a few original instrumental tunes as well. We're a four-piece band including electric guitars, vocals, harmonica, bass, and drums. Hope you come check us out for our 2nd Deering Porchfest performance.

Unique Unknown and friends includes Unique Unknown and Bagels (who is the drummer) Unique Unknown will create full songs with a loop pedal (beatboxing and creating the melody) based off of peoples suggestions. This performance is for all ages.

    Melodic freely improvised music with heavily processed and looped guitar and trumpet.  We are obscure in the extreme but promise not to be annoying or unprofessional on the day of the show. Porchfest pretty much has a world exclusive on our performances.

    Click here for website. The Honeytones offer a sweet blend of vocal harmonies and acoustic accompaniment. Their repertoire - an eclectic mix of originals and popular and lesser-known blues, swing, and folk music from various genres - are a pleasing combination of old, new and undiscovered tunes with a little groove. Honeytones members - Kim Fox on vocals, Marion Walsh on vocals/guitar, Scott Elliott on guitar, and Chris Dombrowski on bass - have played in various ensembles/genres from jazz, acapella, bluegrass, and folk in Maine and the Northeast/Canada and bring these influences together to produce a unique sound with sweet harmonies.

Since 1995, he has toured internationally, signed multiple major recording and publishing deals, and has worked with artists ranging from David Bowie to De La Soul. Rolling Stone Magazine called Spencer a "21st Century master in the lost art of Beatlesque hooks.”He produced The Ghost Of Paul Revere’s “Good At Losing Everything” which was met with wide acclaim, and is presently working on his next studio album.

Our sensibilities combine to create upbeat, eclectic, and always hooky songs filled with soaring synth, mind melting guitar, and girl group harmonies. Fun and subversive in all the best ways.
