The Ideal Maine Social Aid and Sanctuary Band is a community brass band that welcomes players of all levels. They are regulars in public spaces around Portland and the local pep-band at progressive rallies of all kinds. 18. Taiko Maine Dojo - 55 Hamblet Ave, click here for their music. Taiko Maine Dojo is a multi-generational, multicultural community drumming group from Portland, Maine. Founded in 2006, we aim to share Japanese culture via the unifying spirit of kumi-daiko.
19. The B-Sides - 21 Leonard St, click here for their music. The B-Sides are a five-piece indy/folk rock band who perform deep cut cover tunes that you'll recognize and love but probably not have heard lately. We perform regularly at the Portland VFW in Woodfords Corner.
20. The FLUKES - 86 Leland St, click here for their music. The FLUKES, Fun-Loving Ukulele Society, boast a membership of over 30 ukulele musicians. They’ve built a repertoire from many different musical genres, practicing, playing and most of all having a lot of fun. Repertoire ranges from Bach, to the Beatles, and beyond, appealing to audiences of all ages. Their mission is to bring ukulele music and song to Maine audiences, traveling far and wide, in all four seasons, bringing smiles and laughter to appreciative audiences.
21. Unique Unknown - 107 Leland St, click here for their music. A very interactive musical experience. I utilize a loop pedal and improvise full songs with beatboxing and suggestions from the crowd. I also incorporate art for passerbys to collaborate. This is an all ages show with a good mix of music, humor, Social Emotional learning.
22. Wes Covey - 542 Stevens Ave, click here for their music. Award-winning songwriter working the in the Americana/Country/Folk traditions.
23. Why Whisper - 251 Pleasant Ave, click here for their music. Covering classics and current tunes, with originals sprinkled in. Matured, crisp delivery and harmonies throughout. We may just throw a few surprises in.
24. Yard Sauce - 33 Brentwood St, click here for their music. YARD SAUCE is a Maine-based, acoustic string trio featuring Chris Moore (mandolins and vocals), Jeff Christmas (guitar and vocals) and Callie Brennan (fiddle and vocals). Their dynamic live performances draw from the group’s eclectic musical tastes, diverse regional traditional music influences, and a deep catalog of original songs. Old-time, bluegrass, country and folk traditions (including traditional Shaker music) are all part of the mix in every live set. The trio trades off on lead vocal and harmony duties, delivering arrangements of traditional and original tunes with their distinctive, down-to-earth authenticity combined with virtuosic instrumental skills.

Emerging from the coastal pulse of Portland, Maine, 3rd Self Kava (often abbreviated as 3SK) is a post-punk/alternative wave rock band blending melodic depth with a gritty, raw edge. Formed in 2022, the band is known for their immersive soundscapes and emotionally charged live performances. After solidifying their sound through months of writing and rehearsal, 3rd Self Kava released their debut EP "Tide Dream" in 2025. The record captures the band’s signature style: lush yet aggressive, introspective yet anthemic. Tracks from Tide Dream feature layered guitar work, tight rhythm section, and emotionally resonant vocals.
2. Aaron Kitch - 254 Pleasant Ave, click here for their music. Aaron Kitch is a singer-songwriter and keyboardist whose songs blend synthpop with classic modes of rock, soul, and country, as featured in his debut solo album "True Believer."
3. Benny Griffin - 542 Stevens Ave, click here for their music. Singer/songwriter that alternates between piano and guitar. Music is mostly folky with some indie/alt country and soul vibes, depending on the instrument. It’s all a collage inspired by the artists I grew up on and the music that makes Maine unique.

9. First in Maths - 60 Brentwood St, click here for their music. First in Maths, Portland, Maine’s indie rock gem, delivers punchy riffs, dancey beats, and memorable hooks. While the UK-inspired Maths nods to influences from Britpop and garage rock, their catalog balances 90’s alt-indie nostalgia, 2000’s dance rock sweat, and trying-not-to-jam-band-but-damn-we-can-jam. Captivating block parties, house parties, and Portland bars, four guys singing about Cherry Coke wear their hearts on their flannel sleeves.

Her energetic live performances blend acoustic guitar with electronic music. Her setlists combine original music & modern reinterpretations of classics from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, for a nostalgia-driven experience designed for audience connection and dance.
11. Hurry Down Sunshine - 15 Alba St, click here for their music. Stan Davis and Brian Kavanah are Hurry Down Sunshine. We play a wide range of American music from Jazz standards to Tom Waits to Bob Dylan to the Blues- and more. Brian's rhythmic guitar and expressive voice blend with Stan's virtuosic lead guitar to create a soulful stew of music.

Forging a sound that is both timeless and refreshingly modern, the Melvin Gradiz Band is a dynamic three-piece force emerging from Southern Maine's vibrant music scene. Since coming together in late 2024, the band has honed a sound that moves seamlessly between blues, funk, R&B, and pop-rock sensibilities, creating original music built on groove and soul.
16. Pat Barceleau - 18 - 20 New St, click here for their music. Pat Barceleau is a musician based out of Portland, Maine. He started playing music after a major injury when he had nothing to do but sit around and learn guitar. Now he writes and performs original folk music reflecting on his life and the struggles we all go through.
17. Rumple - 108 Alba St. We are a trio of jaunty jammers who just want to have a good time! We've got a set of original songs, and we may Rumple up a cover or two. Jeffrey Knox plays keyboard, Lydia Brown plays drum set, AJ Johnson plays electric bass, and we all sing a bit. We can't wait to hang with you!

21. The Lion Sisters - 115 Mabel St, click here for their music. The Lion Sisters are a sibling duo from New Hampshire known for their tight harmonies and natural musical synchronicity. With Josi on fiddle and vocals and Lily on guitar and vocals, their sound blends folk and bluegrass with Irish fiddle, vintage country, and subtle pop and rock influences—creating a warm, contemporary style that’s distinctly their own. Raised on a small family farm, the sisters draw inspiration from their rural surroundings, weaving nature and authenticity into their songwriting and visual identity.

Jan van Voorst has been a musician and drummer in the New England area for over 30 years, leading his own groups and performing as a sideman across jazz, funk, and rock. The van Voorst Jazz group has taken many forms over the last 20 years — from organ-drums driven duos and small straight-ahead groups to outside jazz with hints of the hard sounds of the 60s and 70s.

Great friends and dedicated musicians, we play a variety of music to include light rock, country classics, blues, swing, folk and of course a special set of Hawaiian Music that includes several original songs written by Rene a member of our group. We are unique, dynamic and create a great connection with live audiences in many different settings. Aloha nui loa.
2. Allons-Z! - 251 Pleasant Ave. Based in Portland, Maine, Allons-Z! is dedicated to sharing the lively exuberance of traditional French Canadian fiddle music. Our current lineup features 3 fiddles accompanied by bouzouki, accordion, tenor banjo and the foot percussion that characterizes the unique style of Quebecois and Acadian dance music. 6. Custom House Gang - 43 Richardson St. Custom House Gang have been playing weekly gig in Portland’s Old Port for many years. On guitars, fiddle, and harmonica, they play and sing Americana: blues, country, folk, bluegrass, old folk-rock, swing, and other tunes that strike their fancy by the likes of Dylan, the Band, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Reed, Merle Haggard, John Prine, John Hurt, Fred McDowell, and Johnny Cash, to name just a few.

He writes and performs mellow acoustic music inspired by both the past and the present, from Bob Dylan and the Beatles to Prince and Bruce Springsteen, as well as the pop and rock music of today.

Her latest release "Narrows" features seven songs reminiscent of classic folk fingerstyle tunes, indie rock anthems, and pining solo ballads. Her performances have been compared to the likes of Patsy Cline, Weyes Blood, and Feist.
7. Holly Rose - 107 Leland St, click here for their music. Holly Rose is 13 years old. She has been performing live since she was 10. She won Decma two summers ago and represented Maine at Nacmai in Tennessee. She won first place in the national song writer category. She won her opening night at the Studio Portlands song writer competition at the Thirsty Pig. She won first place at Greelys got Talent 2025. She performs the breaks for acts such as Swipe Left, Anthony Saint Peter and David Jacques. She currently has around 34 covers and 7 originals in her repertoire. She loves to perform live.

9. Maine Middle Eastern Ensemble - 91 Brentwood St, click here for their music. Founded in 2018 by Eric LaPerna, the Maine Middle Eastern Ensemble performs Arabic, Turkish, and Armenian music from art, classical, folk, and Sufi traditions. You can find them playing across Maine, including their regular residency at Blue in Portland every first Wednesday.
10. Nate Soule - 230 Pleasant Ave. Eclectic mix of progressive/alt rock, Americana, alt country, & electronica. Nate is the guitarist for The Awesome and the original lead guitar player for The Mallett Brothers Band.
11. Nell and Mari - 53 Brentwood St. Hi! Join us for some acoustic, folksy covers and a little bit of our original music! We’re rising seniors at Portland High School, and we’re here with our guitars to play upbeat, americana style music. Check us out for a good time!
12. NuSchlippers - 74 Best St. We started as a band with Maine Academy of Modern Music (we still have lessons with them, and we practice/play on our own) we are starting to book our own gigs. We play rock, funk, soul, taste of country and a little pop (covers). My brother lives at 52 Best Street, he is Paul and Shenaugh Kennedy, I thought we might set up in his driveway, they are open to it.
